Sid Wilkins has informed us of an Emblem reunion, he writes:
It is planned to be quite a relaxed affair, we have decided
not to arrange a dinner as such but can reserve something for dependant on what
people want to do.
Start on Thursday 5 November 2009 at 1200 hrs in the Wimbledon in Lier.
Friday 6 November 2009 we are organising a BBQ in the Don.
The reason we are starting on a Thursday is so that any serving members who need to
get back to their units for Remembrance can leave on the Saturday, those that
wish to stay for Remembrance are welcome to join us in Antwerp on the Sunday
evening in the C of E Church at 1800 hrs, this is run by the Antwerp Royal British Legion of which I am
the Vice Chairman.
We probably will end up in Antwerp on the Saturday evening.
I do not know whether we will get to Herentals though for those that served there
- we will have to see.
We may even look at having a round of golf at Witbos if the interest is there
(used to be the old Olen camp) but that is something we will have to agree with
the club (As George and I are members it shouldn't be a big problem).
