MCA BEST STUDENT TROPHY Army The Association has purchased a trophy for presentation to the best student at the Defence Movements School at Deepcut. The trophy was kindly donated by The Reverend John C Travell. Reverend John Travell is a Master of Theology and a PhD. He has for many years had an interest in military matters and lives close to The Keep Military Museum in Dorcester. He became a member of the Movement Control Historical Society through his friendship with Chris Scott the then Movement Control Association (MCA) Historical Secretary, whom he had known for 40 years. John is a strong supporter of the Salisbury Branch of the Association and regularly attends all the Associations major events. When the issue of a trophy for the best Army student was first muted he readily agreed to fund its purchase. He was keen for the MCA trophy to be used to create a sense of competition amongst students on the Class One Movement Courses, whilst fostering the aims of the Association and encouraging membership. The trophy will be held at the Defence Movements School (DMS), RAF Brize Norton and will be presented to Best Student after a panel of judges have decided on their final presentation. The trophy will then be engraved with their name and retained at DMS. The winning student will be presented with a memento to keep.
